MSCR is excited to unveil new MSCR on the Move Vehicles
MSCR on the Move brings free, fun activities to Madison neighborhoods.
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR), Madison’s public recreation department, is excited to unveil two new vehicles – Clay on the Move and Play on the Move. The new vans are bringing free art and play opportunities to Madison parks and playgrounds all summer. Check out this video
According to Mary Roth, MSCR Executive Director, “We are excited to have new, bright, colorful vehicles that can bring the fun activities right to a neighborhood park. Kids and their families can play games or try their hand at pottery or other art projects.”
Last year MSCR served more than 6,000 people with its mobile recreation program. With the popularity of these programs, MSCR realigned its mobile fleet under one umbrella called MSCR on the Move. Get your first peak at the Play on the Move, Clay on the Move and Art Cart vans at the Mobile Madison events on Tuesday, June 11, 5-7pm at Elver Park and Thursday, June 13, 5-7pm at Brittingham Park. Mobile Madison is a collaborative group of organizations that bring free, mobile activities to a multitude of Madison neighborhoods.
MSCR on the Move vehicles/programs:
Clay on the Move is a free mobile pottery program offering handbuilding and wheel opportunities for community members of all ages. MSCR piloted Clay on the Move last year and due to the program’s popularity, it is expanding it to more visits this summer.
Play on the Move is a free, drop-in mobile play program. The van brings unique play equipment for organized games and free play that encourages imagination and interactive learning experiences.
Art Cart
The Art Cart is a free, drop-in traveling art program that provides creative art-making experiences to children ages 3+ and their families. Art Cart is held in partnership with Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMOCA).
