Play on the Move

Play on the Move is a free, drop-in mobile play program for the community in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Our van brings unique play equipment for organized games, physical activities and free play that encourages imagination and interactive learning experiences. Play on the Move strives to bring equitable play opportunities to more families in the Madison community. Although Play on the Move targets children ages 3+ years, staff are trained to be flexible in adapting play to large ranges of ages, including preschoolers through middle school-age children. We encourage family play, guardians must stay with their child.

With the surge of mobile recreation popularity in the industry and community trends, MSCR has reviewed and realigned its mobile fleet under one umbrella called MSCR on the Move. The revised program allows us to better align resources with emerging community needs and the MSCR mission.

Play on the Moves's Origin

Play on the Move (formerly know as FIT2GO) began in 2013 with funding from Friends of MSCR, Madison Metropolitan School District and the Childhood Obesity Prevention Collaborative. We bring opportunities for play, fitness and fun to families through the use of our equipment. Equipment includes hula hoops, jump ropes, sports equipment, Imagination Playground, obstacle courses and more. Look for Play on the Move activities at events like Parks Alive, Mobile Madison and other community events.
