Adult Softball Umpire
MSCR Softball Umpires are needed to work adult softball games at various locations throughout the city of Madison. Softball umpires working slow pitch work as a two umpire crew with one umpire working at home plate and the other umpire working the bases. New umpires are paired with an MSCR veteran softball umpire to offer help and support to new umpires especially early in the season when new umpires are still learning their roles.
Adult Men’s and Women’s softball, and games are played Monday – Thursday evenings. Softball umpires work three games per night, and most umpires work 1 – 2 nights per week with the option of subbing on other nights if available.
You must be at least 18 years of age to be an adult softball umpire. Starting pay is $24.00 per game.
The “MSCR Softball Umpires School” is a FREE, two session instruction program that begins on Wednesday April 23, 2025 and is required for first year MSCR umpires.
