Assistant Swim Instructor – Winter/Spring 2025
Program Description:
MSCR offers swim instruction for all ages (infants through adults) following the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim standards.
Job Description & Duties:
Assist lead instructors in teaching Red Cross Learn-to-Swim programs.
Engage with swimmers and create a fun learning environment.
Learn valuable skills in lesson planning and co-teaching (optional path for those interested in leading classes in the future).
- Locations East High, La Follette High, Lapham Elementary, Memorial High, West High
- Start Date 02/02/2025
- Hours a Week:
Up to 18.5 hours per week.
- Work Hours:
Evening and weekend hours available ($22 per hour on weekends).
- Pay Rate:
$15.20 per hour (weekdays).
- Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to swim 25 yards of all six strokes to a Level 4 standard (or willingness to learn to this level).
Comfort in deep water (up to 12 feet). - Preferred Qualifications:
Previous swim lesson experience or experience working with youth.

Opportunities to receive Lifeguarding and/or WSI Certification through MSCR.
