Middle School Afterschool Program Leader

Program Description:
MSCR offers After School Programming at all 12 of MMSD Middle Schools. MSCR Middle School After School programs are geared towards student choice and operate on a “drop in” model. Program leaders should have the desire and passion to lead a variety of activities including but not limited to art and crafts, STEM, youth sports, social emotional learning as well as daily homework help with youth in grades 6-8.

Job Description & Duties:
Supervise students attending After School (including during sporting events & field trips).
Plan and lead a variety of after school clubs (SEL, STEM, Sports, Academic, Gaming, etc.).
Create an environment that allows students to feel safe and respected at all times.
Communication with students, families and school day staff.
Maintain appropriate attendance.
Start Date: 9/3/2024

Position Dates: 09/03/2024-5/23/2025

Work Location: Varies – Badger Rock, Black Hawk, Cherokee, Hamilton, Gillespie, O’Keeffe, Sennett, Sherman, Spring Harbor, Toki, Whitehorse, Wright.

  • Hours a Week:

    10-18 hours per week.

  • Work Hours:

    Varies – typically, Mondays 2:00pm-6:15pm, Tuesday-Friday 3:30-6:15.

  • Pay Rate:

    $16.00 per hour.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Desire to create a positive impact on middle school aged youth.
    Ability to arrive on time and stay on site during scheduled shifts.
    Strong Communication with coworkers and supervisors.
    Ability to adapt and be flexible to program changes and needs.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working with middle school aged youth.
    Experience in planning and leading activities.
    Experience with social and emotional support needs of middle school aged youth.
    Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong.
    CPR/First Aid certification.
