Family Dances

picture of a woman and child posing at a dance. This winter, MSCR Afterschool at Anana Elementary School coordinated two unique events – a Father/Father Figure & Daughter Dance (held in February) and a Mother/Mother Figure & Son Dance (held in March). The dances were to celebrate all families and were made possible thanks to a Friends of MSCR grant and the leadership of Victoria Patterson, MSCR Afterschool Site Director at Anana.

The dances were unforgettable evenings celebrating special bonds and families of all ages. They offered a safe, fun, and supportive environment where children could feel special and valued by their parents/parental figures. From tiny toes to seasoned steps, it was pure joy watching these amazing connections over delicious food, fantastic music and even a red carpet. So many lasting memories were made!
